"Then... don't be a whore if you don't want to be." Tilly shrugged nonchalantly, as though her suggestion was as painless as putting on a jacket. She shook the dirt that clung to her feet from her emergence from the river before slipping on her boots. Satisfied, wiggling her toes, she was content to sit back down on that fallen log beside her belongings and enjoy the rest of the evening.
Already she was becoming frightfully lazy, she noticed... this upcoming trip would do well to shake off some of the dust.
"And... y'know, neither Lekalis or I've got a family. And there's nothing worse than a quiet house." She reasoned, cupping her chin in her hand. A smile grew, and she shrugged again,
"So you could consider yourself part of the family, if you'd like."

From the Sanitarium."You have a basement now?" Asked the Crowgazer with some mild surprise as she descended down the stairs, following with Lekalis to the aforementioned basement (and likely accompanying house). She pondered this and seemed to approve. "That is fast digging." She observed admiringly. "It will be a good, secure place to store these notes."

"We; I intend to impart its ownership to you, mostly... I still need a portion of it for my wine and soaps and the like, but for the most part... I intend to dedicate it to your studies, your research..." His hand rolled to the flow of his words as he spoke on and encroached upon a familiar shack; the boards rising tall in an attempt to mimic its neighbors in vain. The location seemed cleaner as a whole; most of the rubble was being organized for reuse off the foundation, rough piles of wood and stone arranged loosely by length and width. The foundation itself was rather clear, sans the largest of stones and pilings of wood.
And, as Lekalis veered left, then right like a Falcon to a fieldmouse; he nodded and set off at a sharp pace towards the hatch inset to the floor which looked to be the entrance of the basement so described, on the left and backmost side of the building. There were scuff marks on the wood, and a plank looks liked to break with splinters jutting out from its surface, but it looked to have held together relatively well despite the building's collapse. One iron handle was broken off, but the other seemed relatively in place; Lekalis used the gloves as a guard to any rust as he pulled open the confines to reveal a rather dark interior... Though there was a scattering of light filtering through a window unseen from the staircased entrance. "I know Tilly is far from the most welcoming of you, but I'd like you close by all the same." He explained, as he made to go down those stoney stairs, rather sharply cleft by a skilled mason.

"Tilly does not concern me. I would appreciate living in your basement." Florence nodded approvingly, though she did hesitate to enter and lingered, a crow on her perch, at the topmost step. She was in a dilemma as to whether to close the door for privacy, while sacrificing light, or to leave it ajar and enjoy the opposite effect.
"It is... still your basement. You do... own it." She said, slower, squinting into the dark as though reading an obscure text.
"This may not be a helpful environment to study these notes. It is too dark."

He paused, looking up to Florence from the bottom of the fair length of stairsteps with a cocked brow; his cloak caught the light of the distant window, giving the otherwise vermillion silk a midnight hue as he beckoned her onwards. "There's a small window... I'm sure it'll be enough. I'll look for a candle or the like too..." Lekalis looked back into the dark, his eyes slowly adapting to the dimmer light, already accustomed halfwise from the walk.
"... I think I see a stool or two, and an armorie..." He cocked his head to the side and squinted, it had been awhile since he'd had to peer into the Dark... Ambushes abound, it was a skill he was proud to have, yet hesitant to boast on the means. "... Shattered glass, I think I see a lamp." He shrugged, looking up to Florence again, "It'll be safer down here than in the Abbey or the like; your little alcove is getting quite well-known... Ibrahim, that tattoo'd Tod... Everyone talks about the Crow under The Abbey." He scoffed as he leant his weight to one leg and rested a hand on his hip. He leant against the nearby wall with his other hand and pressed his brow to his forearm. He didn't look forward to finding another roost to squat in... And the Abbey was frightfully crowded as of late. And, perhaps, an inkling of worry for Roderick's vengeful ghost stirred in Lekalis' gut.

Nasuada smiled, one both sinister yet sincerely happy at the prospect of having a willing servant at her whim. This was exactly what she would need in future endeavors, especially when it comes to expeditions in the Weald where she could send him instead of herself so she may not face Obitus once more on accident.
She walked up to him, putting her face uncomfortably close to his so that his eyes would stare directly in hers. “We think you’ll do just fine if you keep acting like that. All you need to do, is a few things. Don’t swindle us, anything about the occult and magic’s you give straight to us, and lastly if you ever find something demonic or powerful, you let us examine it first. Understood? Good.” She said in a fake sweet voice that sounded strained although believable all the same. She backed off, turning around and walked away a little before turning back with that same smile on her face.
“You may call us Nasuada, and what we want to ask you. Why are you so interested in things so far out of your power, do you hope to learn of the darkness and what hides within? Or do you merely do this out of curiosity. Cause one answer will benefit you more than another, as we can help...for free this time depending.” She offered, crossing her arms over her chest as she waited for his answer.

“I think I’d be more like a pet than really like family.” Courcy gave a teasing smile and sat cross-legged on the grass in front of Tilly. As it was, the hellion couldnt offer much to Lekalis’ house besides protection, like a guard dog.
“But your house won’t be quiet for long, with your- Well, you and Blood will have a family. I don’t want to intrude... at least...” She shook her head and nudged Tilly’s boot with her own.

"- I see no problem with that."- Elorit nodded as she breached his personal space, his only eye meeting her gaze. He knew that it wouldn't be cheap but He was willing to pay any price. "- I do not purposefully collect artifacts. Have no way of keeping them, prefer to travel as light as my situation allows. Unless they are connected my profession, or have confirmed significance. And this checks out both."- he patted the overcoat in place where Blood Ruby was supposed to be concealed now. He will examine it as soon as he's back in his room. He couldn't allow to push it back for tomorrow... "-I never deny possible input of knowledge and information. Magic...is an unknown variable to me. Have seen many things that could be called magic. But those also could've been explained with hallucinations of sick mind or science. Except those rare occurrences when it isn't. So i'm willing to take the leap…”-he said, starting to search the insides of his overcoat, trying to remember where did he put the thing he searched for. At last brought into the light the miniscule line of leather, on which were a set of hieroglyphs, copied from the first pages of the book. The language had a peculiar effect on those unprepared for it. In people of science the word caused a mild headache, while people of the Church got sudden desire to get as far away from the writing as humanly possible. He had an idea of showing the first pages of the book to someone but quickly got discouraged, as the latter pages revealed that such a doing could inflict great deal of damage to human mind. Those of his bloodline were somehow protected from such an influence, but even seeing the hieroglyphs he was unable to make sense of them and felt uncomfortable looking at them. And seemingly no language had anything similar to this so any attempt at research was thwarted thoroughly. “You don't happen to know the language in which this particular word, or sentence is written?"- he asked. On the line - a single word in the ancient language of sunken R'lyeh. A name and a mark all belonging to a singular entity. “Aforgomon”

"It is not good to strain your eyes in the dark." She reasoned, glancing to Lekalis and finding him, somewhat unsurprisingly, not searching for an adequate candle. She watched him for a moment with a slight intrigue before committing to the task herself, stooping over to stalk over the corners and nooks of the basement. She would be shocked, but pleased, to find a candle or a lamp in the dark, though she was not unused to having to squint in the moonlight. She would not shocked to find shattered glass or a stool or an armoire, nor would she be particularly pleased. "Why is there talk about the... Crow? ...Me?" Pondered Florence, though she admittedly did not dedicate much thought to that particular endeavor. "I hope it is positive."

With much drama Tilly slapped a palm to her forehead in sheer exasperation, though a poorly-veiled smile betrayed a more light-hearted demeanor. "You'll drive me mad, running me in circles, trying to convince me to drop you off on the street." With much gusto she nudged Courcy's boot right back. "We've hardly a family at all. Children... need more than just their parents." She insisted, though the prospect still brought butterflies to her stomach. "So be a part of our sodding family, won't you?" She made to stand, acquiring her belongings and tidying the others already on her person: most unfortunately, the belt she was growing to despise. But the coat and jerkin were still welcome protection against the evening chill. "Come, then. Let's head back before we catch cold? We'll be having a busy day tomorrow if all goes well."

Like a weight was lifted from her shoulders, Courcy shrank with a sigh. She smiled and nodded and rose alongside her friend. Tilly was more generous than she knew, and Courcy was intent to repay her somehow. Dusting off the backside of her pants, she took a last glance at the peaceful stream before turning away toward the grey hamlet.
"I'd be really happy to. It's been too long since I had family." Her insides stirred, excitedly or anxiously, she wasn't sure. The redhead crossed her arms as if to contain herself, taking a deep breath and exhaling slowly as she began to walk.
"I only wish I had what you had. My own home and... and husband. Some day, I guess." Courcy chewed her lip. Her head tilted and her eyes turned hopefully at Tilly. She wasn't young as when she had first come here, with Baignard. Happy and lasting relationships weren't a common occurrence in this place. But if the alternative to happiness was death, then she may as well die trying to be happy.

"You've a sister, if you'll allow me." Tilly offered with a smile that was almost a tad sheepish as she shrugged and slipped her hands into her coat pockets. There was a shred of optimism she felt within her; it was a sense of faith that her future wasn't wholly in ruins. "That'd be as good a start as any, I think." In fact, it may even be a period of life she'd enjoy. "And, in that case, I wouldn't rule out your own home and husband, either." She reminded, stepping forward, and then making to whistle to signal Elsa to come forward. Like clockwork, the beast came forward. She reached, boldly, to rub at the dog's ears as though to reward her for following through on her commands. Satisfied, she gave a final scan to the riverside to ensure no other belongings were left behind. And then she started down the path to the Hamlet. "...One step at a time, mind." She added with a nod as she walked. [Courcy and Tilly return to the Hamlet Streets! ]

/Lekalis/
"Positive..?" Lekalis chuckled with an airy breath as he pushed himself off from the stones and looked up to the cellar doors; they weren't catching much light with the angle of the moon, so he quickly stepped up a footing or two and pulled down the two hatches with a dull, wet, thud. "... About as positive as any mingling of the Faithful and Intellectual...", He knew he wasn't wrong, but he hadn't actually caught any rumors. Only inklings of suspicion. He hesitated, cocking a brow at Florence; a hesitance born from some newfound honesty with Tilly... Newfound... Relative honesty, he supposed. "... They say you're conducting Dark rituals, tarnishing the holy grounds. It is only a matter of time until it reaches the ears of Grace or another proud Bearer of the Light." Lekalis smirked and shrugged as he pulled out his falchion and idly admired the blade; there were a few knicks and stains... he'd rather forgone maintaining the blade, though he'd doubly thought he might lose it sooner than not.
He squinted, leant his head this way and that, then motioned to a distant corner with the point of the blade; doubly checking the straightness of the weapon. It was straight, as ever... last he'd used it was to bat Roderick upside the head. "Looks like a stool and candle there; bring it over, I'll strike a light." He offered with a sigh, idly scanning the room again.
It was bare enough... Though, beside the stool was an armoire of sorts. Knocked over in haste, he couldn't see what was inside, but the glass windows of the upper panels had held, and it looked like a lattice of sorts was inside. The candle on the stool had been knocked over and some wax had molded itself onto the stool, but it looked to have a fair hands length left on it... There was a small metal bowl that boasted a finger-handle; seemed like the candle had fallen out given a ruckus of sorts.
The floor near the toppled armoire had scuff marks on the floor, leading towards the wall.

"That saddens me."
Despite her words, Florence seemed unperturbed. Undaunted, she strode on to retrieve both the candle and the stool. She thought it helpful to bring both.
Disregarding the scuff marks, she peered inside the armoire briefly before making to pick up the stool by the legs, careful to hold the candle-side upwards while looping the finger-handle of the bowl about a gloved digit. Unceremoniously, she plopped the stool, candle, and bowl down beside Lekalis.
"...I suppose I have mildly tarnished those grounds, perhaps..."

"You'd only conducted research on gaining insight on an apparent curse of Eldritch proportions... And brought some pieces of a corpse that could be potentially be afflicted with arcane mushrooms. Insofar..." Lekalis shrugged and stooped to pick up the candle, which he examined idly and hummed, "... quite mild indeed." He mused with a small chuckle and wink towards Florence as he held the wick of the candle close to the cobblestone wall and struck the pommel of his falchion roughly against it at an angle to send sparks out into the lowly lit basement.
It took one or two ringing strikes, but the Ex-Lord seemed to have had some practice as one of the sparks caught the candle and bloomed into a small flame. "There we are..." He mumbled as he set the candle quickly onto the bowl, balancing it carefully before he decided to take a seat; hand still on the candle as he made his descent. "At anyrate; you needn't be sad. They're all ungrateful and rude pomps in that rather wasted piece of good architecture-- If I had that much stone stacked so high with glass windows all about..? It'd be a wonderful place for a gala, wouldn't you say?" He mused a bit tiredly as he shifted his grip on the candle to something a bit more delicate and cautious, using just his thumb and forefinger.
He squinted off to that armoire knocked over and noticed something Florence had no doubt seen as well; a red stain that had long since pooled out from the cracked glass and the glimmer of familiar glass circles wedged between the lattice inside the armoire. There were several broken bottles of wine, but there looked to be one or two still intact. "Reckon you could fetch the wine..?" He inquired with a cattish smile and purr as he rose his brows, looking to Florence pleadingly.
