Tilly nodded at Lekalis, shifting the satchel on her shoulders as she took a deep, well-wanted breath, free from the stench of the first room-- though still strongly scented in its own right. She sighed and rubbed the bridge of her nose, supposing that, at this rate, it was good timing to retire. "Sounds good."
She shifted around to face the other two, smoothing out the front of her coat,
"So, er..."
After that, introductions seemed that much more awkward. She crossed her legs more comfortably away from her.
"Who are you lot? And what's with a bloody watchtower in the middle of no where?"

If it was needed, Courcy would help to draw the ladder back up. She was the muscle after all, just here to clear her debt to the heir. As such, it seemed best to let the others do the talking - Blood must have loved to hear himself talk.
She stood at first, behind her companions, casting her eyes about the room from the crates to the tower-dwellers. Momentarily she sank onto a makeshift seat herself and leaned her halberd over her shoulder. Though she was quiet, Courcy offered a small smile to the boy and his mother.

/The Limestone Tower/ The Boy's attention snapped back to Tilly, sitting on the ground, looking down at her peculiarly before clearing his throat. He shook his head like a disgruntled bull and took a step back, bowing as he watched Lekalis from the corner of his eye. "I am Squire to Promos of the Crimson Sun." He declared in salutations, a his shield coming to cover his chest as he bowed with, if but for a flicker of a moment, militaristic stoicness.
Though, the facade quickly shifted, he rolled his shoulders and looked to the woman again, before looking back to Tilly; "This was a beacon for shipments to arrive to... A sort of Lighthouse." Nervousness came over him and he anxiously shifted from foot to foot, "Th-there's none else like it, 'sides at the end of the pier, further down the walk... Erh..." He glanced to the woman again, she rolled her glimmering green eyes with a sigh and clutched her amulet, busying her gaze with some far corner. The boy's head bowed to his chin. \\ /Lekalis/ He welcomed Courcy's aide readily, though he was rather plainly watching Tilly from the corner of his eyes. He murmured thanks to the Hellion before finally pulling the ladder up with a huff, shutting the hatch in kind with a heavy thunk.
The Ex-Lord rose and motioned for Courcy to do the same as he pressed his lips thinly together and listened to the boy; his brows furrowing as he spoke and failed to introduce the woman. His eyes immediately gravitated towards her dark hair and emerald eyes, squinting at the sun-star amulet; his hand stroked the hairs of his goatee in thought... \\

Tilly leaned forward on the crate she sat on, curling her fingers up around her chin to rest her head on. She found sitting to be exceptionally comfortable, even moreso in a room that didn't stink to high hell. If only this were in more pleasant circumstances...
Taking note of the position of the twin watchtower, she supposed that would suffice for a full scout of the boardwalk.
She tipped her hat. "Right-o, much appreciated; but what are your names...? Who's this other lady?"

Some religious folk. She should have figured from the jars Tilly had scrounged at the beach. Courcy stood again as Blood urged her to, apparently she was unaware they were meant to be proud emissaries for the heir. She frowned a little at the ex-lord, since Tilly remained seated.
Her hands were planted on her hips and she stood rather casually before the two strangers. Mostly Courcy watched the boy.

/The Limestone Tower/
The Squire of Promos looked to Tilly again, pulling his shield to cover his stomach in a semi-formal measure; the heater shield had a yellow sun painted on a field of red on the outer facing of the defensive item. His mouth opened to speak, before the motherly woman raised a hand and looked over to Tilly with a sigh. She shifted her legs to be closer together as she leant forward and looked into her hands. "The boy doesn't get a name until the man he's squired to dies." She roes a brow, her voice was sweetish but there was a slight croak to it now. Tired as she was.
Her back straightened now though, and she slipped the amulet of the sun into the collar of her thick half-nightgown. "I am Mother Elaine." She bowed her head in kind, and her features fell to a frown, only now noticeable from the vague smile she held before. "We were both under the protection of Slayer Promos." She answered preemptively, her verdant eyes were much more vibrant than Tilly's own, and seemed to compete for some measure of unneeded control and security over the situation.
\\ /Lekalis/
With a sigh he quietly shared with Courcy, he crossed his arms over his chest and looked to her frown; quickly mirroring it, he ambled over to a crate and reached out to it; idly running his hand over the woody surface before beckoning Courcy to come over.

"It's a pleasure, Mother Elaine." Tilly nodded, eyes flitting between the boy and the woman. Silently, she cursed the confusing nature of religious titles; she could have sworn the Squire was the woman's boy. She stifled a frown, and swore to kick herself if the boy turned out to be motherless at all, a pattern in the denizens of the hamlet that frankly frightened her.
"So where is Slayer Promos, then?" Tilly asked softly, though she could likely guess just what happened to the Knight.

Courcy circled over to Blood, glaring at him with a hint of irritation.
"Shall I sit, then?" She cocked her head and her hips at him before sinking onto the crate. The unamused glare was offered to the dark haired woman too. It was just like their 'holy' folk to deny the kid a name. She imagined he was disciplined to be proud of that fact.

/The Limestone Tower/ "He went to investigate the other Tower... We heard alarm bells ringing, though this vile fog had settled before then. We couldn't see them." She explained with a sigh, fidgeting with her blood caked nails, scraping off some of the flakes. "He took most of the garrison and..." She wasn't on the brink of tears, though it was clearly painful to recount as she cleared her throat and touched it gently with her bloody hand. "... Demons came from the water. This place is our only refuge; here, we can stay and survive." Elaine nodded fiercely, her fingers scrunching up the cloth at her knees as her eyes bored into Tilly.
The Squire watched Elaine with pride, before shifting his attention to Tilly expectantly. He cast a glance to Lekalis and Courcy for a moment before grumbling and returning to the conversation at hand. \\
/Lekalis/ "Perhaps..." He mused, in a hushed and whispered tone as he drooped his head close to hers while he stood. "... They're not telling us something." Lekalis murmured as he idly plucked at the grain of the wood with his nails, looking over to Courcy from the corner of his eye, "Most kin of the cloth wouldn't be so content to hide and flee... Who knows how long they've been here; perhaps foul humors took their sanity already?" He contemplated with hopes of collaboration with Courcy. Though, admittedly, he didn't have very high hopes... \\

It was a horrifying story, and Tilly certainly didn't envy the two for their position. Though, if Promos hadn't returned... he was likely dead or as petrified as the folk on the first floor. She cocked her head, incredulous, "Did you two plan to stay here, even after what happened?"
Tilly linked her fingers together, one clasped over the other. She hoped that they were suspect to reason, but she did not expect it.
"It's suicide. You won't last long here, holed up like that, and you won't be doing anyone any good, either." She pointed out, quickly, leaning forward on her elbows. She was becoming more comfortable by the second. "Your beacon isn't working, either; we couldn't even see your light from the shore with all the fog. And if you don't get a healer to look at your ankle, it'll rot and kill you-- if the fish-folk don't do it first."
She shrugged her bony shoulders, swaying the toe of her boot lazily as she spoke.
"We need good, holy folk now more than ever-- but they don't do any good hiding in towers, waiting to die." She pointed out, unfolding her fingers beneath her chin. She nodded, "But if you come with us, we can escort you on down back to the beach, and we can let the Heir know where the other watchtower is and get him to send some men out to look for good ol' Promos. If you're healed up enough, you lot can probably go and help 'em look."

Mother Elaine nodded in humbled understanding, though she didn't put much of a fight against Tilly as she spoke on. Elaine fidgeted with the knees of her dress and chewed on the bottom of her lip, biting back tears as she nodded with grave acceptance. As much as she wanted to shake her head in denial her eyes were locked on the inescapable shade of red on her hands and ankle. "I jus-- 'E said 'ed come back..." She shrugged and smoothed out the crumpled dress with a sigh, looking up to The Squire.
The Squire stood solemnly, swaying slightly as he occasionally scratched at his elbow and listened like a statue. When he caught Elaine's eye, he squared his shoulders and nodded, "... He is Ser Promos, ma'am. He's not old." He informed curtly as he looked about the room. Looking for any belongings he might want to take with him, though, with a sharp breath, he snapped his helm back to look at Tilly. "I've no need of escort; Mother Elaine... She is strong, but the Flame can only do so much." He admitted looking down to Elaine who seemed meeker under the circumstance. "I can carry her... Unless one of Lekalis' retinue can provide..?" \\

"You trust 'the cloth' even with sanity?" Courcy retorted in an equally conspiratorial hushed voice. She huffed at Lekalis and shifted her blue gaze toward the woman again. Neither of them seemed manic, but all the same Courcy didn't trust this Elaine. Yet she was still sympathetic toward the boy. He was as much a captive to faith in the Flame as the hellion was to law of the Heir.
"Have you got something in mind?" She looked back to Blood with a subtle smirk, amused by his paranoia and consequential collusion. Focused eyes watched the man's lips until her musing was interrupted by the squire. She hesitated to offer her own shoulder, at least until Lekalis gave her a cue.

"...Right, my mistake. Ser Promos." Tilly offered a thin smile to the Squire before turning to Elaine, briefly glancing disapprovingly to the whispering Courcy and Lekalis. She bit back any negative remarks-- she didn't see this as quite the right time for idle chatter-- and continued,
"You both'll need an escort to make sure nothing gets you lot killed, unless you plan on taking on a whole group by yourself." She shrugged, tapping her fingers against each other. At least persuading them was easier than she'd thought. "We can make sure you'll make it back to land safely, and you can help your Mother walk."
Tilly cleared her throat loudly, pointedly nodding to her compatriots,
"We can do that, can't we? They'll know the boardwalk rather well; we can go and relay that information to the heir when we're back. Easiest expedition you'll ever get."

"A... A whole group?" The Squire repeated incredulously, looking to Elaine for a moment, then to Tilly; he wiped off some unseen dust from his chest and nervously shifted from one foot to the other. "There's-- How many were there?" He asked quickly, worriedly as he took a step forward, he reached out and grabbed Tilly's shoulder. "Why didn't you kill them?!"
Elaine watched with growing fear, her composed exterior began to crumple in as she scooted away from Tilly, then stood up; taking more steps back, her head quickly swung to look at the ladder and hatch on the far side of the room, leading to the roof, before looking back to Tilly.

The Ex-Lord looked about to reply when Tilly addressed them; he sighed and rolled his eyes like a pompous child, shrugging. Then the Squire moved forward. It was enough to wipe the bemusement off Lekalis' face, and he quickly swung the end of his spear out to prod the boy in the chest to stop him from getting too close to Tilly.
He held an even, cool gaze on the boy, though it flicked to Tilly in both curiosity and worry. "We didn't encounter anything on our way in... Turn of phrase; we don't want you two to get slain on the way back." He explained with a tone of measured and practiced annoyance. "And we'll be headed back anyways; Like Tilly said, you've got the info we need. Easy."

"Hey." Courcy caught Blood's spear-pointing arm. It was bad enough to be jealous of his attention for Tilly, but he was coming off more belligerent than chivalrous. And though the ex-lord gave her reason to doubt the stranger's motives, she was still convinced that the boy, at least, was a victim in all of this mess.
"Give him a break?" The redhead offered the squire an apologetic look. She gently squeezed Blood's arm, encouraging him to put away his spear. There was too much tension in the room and no room for trust.
"If we're gonna get back in one piece, we can't already be fighting."
