The Squire subtly shifted a little, nervously, as he reaffirmed his grip on his sword. "I am The Squire of Ser Promos." He informed, stiffly.

He tried to keep a straight face, though he clearly didn't put too much effort in the ordeal as he gave a small 'huh' in amusement after he glanced to Tilly and her departure with a risen brow. Sighing, he chewed on his lower lip in thought, before looking to Courcy... Then shrugged and walked on, looking to the sleeping Elaine and her wounded ankle with a bit of a frown.
Her sleeping eyes were enough to deter him from inspecting it too closely, but he gave a passing glance over the wound in the brighter firelight before crossing his arms and watching Courcy...

"Yeah..." Courcy let out an exasperated sigh. She shrugged her shoulders before shrinking to sit herself, in front of the boy. Her halberd laid flat next to her and she crossed her bandaged arms over her lap.
"That's a bit of a mouthful, isn't it?" A smirk tugged at her lips and she hoped he might smile too. Looking about to the others, who seemed to be drifting their separate ways to sleep, she eyed Lekalis for a moment.
"What have we got to eat?" She kept her voice low enough so as not to disturb Elaine or Tilly.

The Squire looked to Courcy now, eye-level, with some social anxiety slipping in as he nodded and stood up. Stiffly taking his sword out of the sandy earth and sheathing it. "Y-yes. There are a lot of words." He admitted, looking back to Elaine, then Courcy.
"When we return; the Heir can grant me the privilege of using Promos until he returns... That much would be permissable." He nodded again and turned away, before turning back to Courcy... Then turning away again and marching over to sit beside Elaine again. Crossing his legs in immitation to Courcy.

The Ex-Lord watched with a small smile curling over his lips before he caught Courcy's eye and rolled his eyes, he walked over with the grace and guile of a cat, and saw to fishing out what meals they'd stowed away for a much longer venture. "I've some bread and hard cheese I'd meant to eat with Tilly but--" He puffed out his cheeks and sighed, looking over to the predescribed hatted compatriot, snoozing peacefully. "-- Well, she's got other plans it seems." He mused with an exaggerated sadness.
He saw to acquiring a quick stick, clean and thick enough for his standards (about an inch thick and a yard long), wherein he found a seat a friendly distance from her, and began whittling away at the head of it. Lekalis cast a few glances her way as he whittled, eyeing her arms, "Think you could work off those bandages for me? I need to clean those wounds before any rot settles in." He hummed and looked over to Elaine, Tilly, and the Squire. All seemed to be finding themselves asleep. "Especially since it'll be awhile before we make it back..."

Courcy nodded and forced a half smile as the boy wandered away, returning to the woman's side. She was sad for him to have little will of his own. As Lekalis neared, the redhead shifted herself more in his direction. Thankful to hear of his stashed food, her smile grew towards him.
For now she settled with peeling off the bloody strips from her arms, only wincing a little as the cloth stuck to her wrists. The cuts were gnarly and Courcy sighed and grew dizzy at the sight. She looked to the ex-lord's face instead and scooted closer still so he could tend to her.
"What do you think of them, really?" Her voice was quiet, so as not to wake anyone, but it seemed an opportune time to ask. Blood seemed rather skeptical about the woman and the squire back in the tower.

With a curt shake of his head, more like a dignified twitch, he gave a small sneer as he finished off the point of the stick and pinned the partially-eaten loaf of bread on the end of the stick. After giving the end of the stick a quick burn in the fire, of course. He stuck the stick a fair distance from the fire, into the sand. Holding the bread aloft to roast it at a slow pace.
Hopefully, at least, as Lekalis turned and quickly looked over her wounds. The gnarled gashes were frightening, but it seemed their watery battlefield had rinsed most of the largest gunk out of the wounds. That only left the more nuanced details to tend to... Which the Ex-Lord was frightfully underprepared for. He frowned, and pulled out a cannister of water which he quickly used to wash his hands. "Them..? The Squire and Elaine..?" He knowingly hummed and scrunched up his features. Though, his frown was gone as he looked up to the lightly illuminated night sky. "... They're good, but they don't trust us. It's fair... It might do to talk to them more before we go out there again." He sighed and beckoned her closer as he gingerly pulled her arms over to work on them.
Without much ceremony, he started washing out her wounds with the clean water; his hands were deft and gentle enough to keep the pain minimal while he rinsed out some of the gunk packed inside... "... Why do you ask?"

She bit her lower lip and breathed slowly to soothe the sharp but necessary pains. Courcy was grateful for his willingness to treat her and tenderness with her wounds. She sat beside Blood, close enough not to be uncomfortable while he cleaned her arms.
"You seemed to think they-" She hissed at a sting that shot through her arm, but it settled into a dull pain quickly enough. "they could be... 'touched'. Cooped up in there, starving." The ginger shrugged, not enough to disturb Blood's doctoring.
"I was about the boy's age when I came here with Baignard."

"Mmm, aye... I've been in a siege or two..." The Ex-Lord began to explain, before focusing intensively on some folicle of dirt in her arm, before sighing and finally removing the obstruction; it looked altogether rather nicely tended to. Of course, lacking any devices or reagents to apply, he felt he was missing quite a few steps. He'd definitely have to ask Florence a few things when he got back. "... Only two, to be exact." He sighed, as he saw to rebinding the wounds on Courcy's arms.
"Some lose their minds being holed up in one place for so long. A week... I'm not sure I've seen anyone go that long and stay sane." He finished his explanation as he finished wrapping the bandages. Lekalis wasted no time in shifting his attention to the loaf of bread, which he pulled back; it was a touch smoky, and the edges were a bit more burnt than he anticipated, but it would do. "They seem well enough, for now. Hopefully they'll be able to recover fully once we're in the Hamlet."
After pulling off the loaf, he produced a small cut of cheese and offered both out to Courcy. "What's your age anyways..?"

Courcy frowned at his account. She couldn't imagine being confined, the fear of death looming over her for days on end, even for being so brave or stupid as to lower a ladder. She was ready to return to the hamlet, so each of them could recuperate. It was her intent to talk more with the boy anyways.
"Twenty and... three?" The redhead responded, cocking her head. She inched closer and accepted the treat of bread and cheese, wasting no time to taste them.
"I don't like Elaine." She added in a mutter.

He nodded sagely, considering her opinion as much as his it seemed, as he took his own share in tearing a chunk of cheese away from the block; weighing its preserved crumbly nature. "And I wonder; why is that?" He asked, almost rhetorically though he paid her a genuine, if not a bit posh, glance as he popped the cheese into his mouth and reproduced the process on the bread.
Lekalis was happy to taste and savor the slight smoky taste of bread and cheese over the briney water and blood soaked spittle of battle. He kicked himself repeatedly for not departing with any wine. His gaze glanced away and to his satchel a bit lonesomely, with a touch of regret as he swiped away some unseen blemish with his little finger. Keeping a mind to avoid tarnishing either cheese or loaf.

She shot him a glance, as if he should well know her qualms. Courcy licked the breadcrumbs from her fingers before continuing.
"'Holy' folk. They have all these damned rules just to... to lord it over you." The hellion grumbled, finishing off the nibble of cheese she had in her fingers. "And then they do as they please, in the name of... whatever the fuck."
With a sigh, she straightened up again to stretch her arms. Her head rolled about her shoulders and she scanned over the other three who were asleep.
"What about you? Your age, I mean."

Again, he nodded a bit listlessly. With the battle behind them, tire finally began to settle in his bones and he only barely caught Courcy's firey gaze. His lips went thin and his brows shot up innocently as he listened to her bitter retort. "Some, at least... Most like to use those rules as you say but, well..." He nodded towards the Squire and Elaine, "... Others need some direction in their Life. Least from what I've seen; not everyone's got the mind to follow their gut."
Lekalis reached over and set the bread and cheese on Courcy's lap as he wiped his hands clean and stood up. "At anyrate; three and three, I wager, is my age." He smirked at the obscure count, giving her a quick wink, "I've never been good at counting. All the days just... mold together, don't they?" He sighed, yawning and stretching. "Think you're good for first watch?"

Courcy chewed on her lip, still studying the sleeping Elaine. There was little basis for her attitude, at least not from this particular holy woman. Perhaps Blood was right after all.
She crossed her arms over her knees, and rested her chin there, looking to Lekalis as he expressed his tiredness. The day had been exhausting, clearly, but Courcy wasn't sure she would sleep soon anyhow. With a smirk and short nod, she accepted the task. Of course she hoped her watch would be silent and boring.
"Don't suppose we could have a quick toss?" The ginger scoffed, mostly jesting. Her eyes flitted enviously to the sleeping Tilly, and back to Blood expectantly.

With an exasperated sigh, he turned and started off and away to where Courcy's eyes predicted; waggling a finger at her over his shoulder as he departed, "I wouldn't advise moving your arms to toss anything, dear Courcy. Have a good watch."
He made a small flourish of a twirl before he stood before Tilly proper, to face Courcy and bow. With that, he slipped easily onto his derriere, happily beside Tilly; he shuffled his shoulders and cloak slightly, like a bird unfurling its feathers, to wrap the silken cloak around her now before quietly setting his cheek on the top of her cap.
With one last, daringly cheeky smile to Courcy, he waved her adieu and closed his eyes...
