A roar came from Tod, angry words of harsh origin, german slurs and phrases, his bleeding fingers spurting bits of blood with each of Tod's spouts of rage. His tattoed body was entirely on display, bits of glowing skin brightly shining. He reached down to grab up his crucifix, turning to slam the heavy metal instrument into the creature's skull.

Jowita sidestepped the lunge with grim determination. There was a flash of steel, and the two warriors embraced - with Jowita's sabre deep in the man's chest, piercing his sorrowful heart.
Despite the man's protests, and his dying throes, she kept him close. No scorn, no malice on her face - mere sadness.
His body was lowered to the ground, laid to rest. She looked at him one last time, and shook her head, letting him slide off the rapier and drop heavily on the ground.

Adonis watched in some interest, he had thought she would have needed help but in the end it didn’t matter. All the enemies mainly vanquished, Tod needing to finish the thing off before it did something disgusting or dangerous. Though now he turned his attention to the item that had made Salazar a corpse and was blazing like a holy beacon, the object of the mans search which costed him his life.
“I will leave you to cope, Jowita, but know the light requires us to leave as soon as I find out what exactly our heretic of an employer was trying to capture for his own occultist needs. I will not hesitate to leave you behind if your mind is clouded with grief of a devils illusion.” He spoke curtly, walking off towards the pedestal where the item was placed upon, looking over to Tod with an ounce of disgust and a drop of holy fire to quench it.
“That goes for you too Tod, do not toil with things a man of light should banish. An example of such will be made if you decide to ignore the lights guidance.” He said loudly to the boy, turning back to the item as he stared down at the corpse of a dead man with a small prayer of release before inspecting the item that killed him, sickened but curious.

It couldn't die now. Not while it was free to roam in this beautiful world. It saw the crucifix going down, trying to crush its skull. It screeched in defiance, and with pure reflexes, since its eyes were reduced to a mere bloody pulp, it grabbed the crucifix. With growing strength and confidence, it battled with Tod. It didn't have the strength or the opportunity to grasp it yet, but Tod's didn't have the control of the crucifix right now. And neither did the creature. The things' senses were heightened, and would fight with the energy of dispair.
Death. It edged at the man's consciousness when the cold steel of the woman plunged into his body. He wasn't sad. The taste of defeat didn't fill his mouth. Instead, he brought a shivering hand to Jowita's cheek, and murmured before finally drawing his final breath.
"Zapamiętaj."
Adonis approached the apparatus that symbolised Salazar's demise. Next to it, the shriveled body of the Occultist, like it was void of all blood and organs, was laid to rest. It would stay there if nobody did anything.
The apparatus itself was more interesting. It was a shimmering beacon of light, that now that Adonis was near it, emitted a low but constant hum. This was because it was moving in a slow motion, two rings orbiting around a crystal core. It was an... interesting crystal, to say the least. It was changing colours so often that one couldn't describe how it looked. It was round, and it looked like it was what was emitting all this light. And that it was the source of the appearance that attacked the group.
Inside, a vision of... something could be seen. There was only one way to be sure.

Tod roared, "OHOHO!" he snicked, letting go of the crucifix, taking a step into a hard kick to the creature's face. He rammed his thick sole into its face, attempting to smash its face in. Tod's face crinkled into a sneer as he continued to stomp and pound at it, his dark, inscribed body rippling with anger as he slammed its neck.

Adonis took a breath, preparing himself for damnation as he bent himself forward to inspect the crystal closely, deeply looking into the vision to try and see what was inside it. Devils magic, but sight into a possible future or past was too much to be ignored if it meant he found where to demolish this contraption.

She replied to Adonis with a loud huff, cleaning her blade of the blood. Her perpetual scowl returned, as she calmly surveyed the room and whatever foulness presented itself in the apparatus.
She winced both at Tod's brutality and the hideous mass which he was currently pummeling. Truly, a gruesome abomination, and she could be considered 'lucky' her adversary was 'merely' a swordsman who matched her own skill.
Jowita went on to reload her flintlock, taking a hesitant step towards the apparatus and looking into it.

The thing in front of Tod was overjoyed to find that the priest let go of the crucifix. Only to find the thick shoe of Tod crushing its "beautiful" nose. It sneered, like a feral cat. With tremendous force, she threw the crucifix with precision into Tod's shoulder. Without quick instincts, the priest would find himself hindered. Then, she looked at the others who were examining the apparatus, and who left the exit door unguarded. She spat at Tod's foot, and said with an awful voice.
"This isn't over !"
She then began to run near the exit door.
The crystal reacted to Adonis' approach. It shone directly into Adonis' eyes, and whispered to his mind how things had already become, in another dimension. Adonis would experiment a vision, through the eyes of someone.
The beasts near the manor, some formless flesh beckoning for the mortals to sacrifice themselves, others iron clad cultists who swore the awakening of a new god. I brandish a shining sword, my defiance towards the elder god shown to my troops who awaits salvation. I know that only by my hand shall they atteign it.
As the cultists form up in attacking formations, I laugh softly. No blood of the righteous shall be shed today. I step forward, my shining sword thrust into the sky. Light ! Your greatest champion calls ! Smite to my command !
And smite she did. The Light, my faith, my tool. A great flame swept away the cultists, and collumns of light, sent directly from the heavens, purified the formless beasts. The others look up to me, and they whisper softly of my greatness.
Ignoring their admiration, I step forward to enter the Darkest Dungeon, and finish this at once. Ah, to walk on the blood-soaked battlefield. I look into a puddle of crimson liquid and...
Adonis would recognise his own face in the blood. Unscarred. Triumphant.
Jowita would see the apparatus differently from Adonis. The two rings still orbited around the crystal, but the light emitted was dimmed down, and the crystal itself stopped switching colours. It would appear as a red piece of glass, devoid of interest. Near the apparatus, the stench of Salazar's body could still be smelled. The poor man was empty of all blood, water, and anything that brought life to a corpse It was all shriveled up, like some kind of a parody of a mummy. The only thing that could bring the memory of life was its resplendant red coat, oriental style. A spark of gold could be seen in one of its pocket.

Tod growled, like some angered bear, baring his teeth before lurching backward. The stumble was enough of a loss of footing to send him to the floor, of which he bashed his head upon the stone.
A ringing found his ears, stabbing his brain as he attempted to find familiarity in his surroundings. His voice rung out in a hissing raised voice, "Come back, whore!"
Tod looked for his crucifix, his naked body scrabbling across the ground like some beast before he cast a white-knuckle grip around the handle. He turned back towards the creature, not bothering to stand, but instead sitting up. His prayer-like position was interrupted by a convulse in his form, further followed by words.
"Flay! Flay! Goddamn it!" He screamed, pain and anger filling his thought too tightly to remember his words of power. "One of you sorry cunts fucking kill it!"

Jowita turned sharply towards the fleeing abomination, sending a bullet towards it. "You let it run!" She yelled, mentally scloding herself for thinking the clergyman had it under control. With her sabre drawn, she gave chase.
Jowita ignored Tod's cussing for now, but it would be remembered. For now, she had more important matters to attend to.

Adonis stood there, looking at himself in the pool of blood, holy sword in hand, creating a blaze of light so powerful it wiped evil off this earth as easily as he could’ve snapped. This was him, but was it true? Was this his future fame showed, in all its glory, in the way of the light no less? He would’ve gazed at himself for an eternity until he was shaken out of the illusion, jarred back into reality as Jowita yelled and gave chase to the abomination which Tod was supposed to finish off.
That fool had no way to lose, he had the upper hand, but it just showed how pitiful he truly was. Adonis would’ve finished it off easily, cut it down in the name of holy light, and show it what a god was in a mortals body. He felt like without him this world would perish, he was it’s savoir, and only he could truly be the lights disciple. Everyone else was unworthy, but he, he was powerful, not as powerful as the light but to him, what was all powerful but subject to the light which birthed it? God, that’s what he was, and he would act like it.
Adonis was Overzealous, but with the vision gifted to him he had crossed a line in his head, a dangerous one. He was no longer Overzealous but he had developed a...
God Syndrome
”JOWITA, STAND DOWN! DO NOT FOLLOW IT!” Adonis commanded, his voice echoing and booming far louder than it had ever before. It held such an air of authority it would hopefully instill enough hesitation into the woman for her to listen.

The thing hissed at the mercs. Hurting, she stumbled to the door. She gave a quick look, from what her eyes could see, to the room. Jowita was running at her, sabre drawn. Adonis looked like he was going to kill her with one stare, and Tod was screaming like a madman. Not like this. It tried to shut the door to trap the others, but it didn't have enough strength. Jowita was coming closer and closer, and the thing didn't want to lose the precious advance it had. It ran, as fast as it could, keeping a few precious meters to keep her safe from Jowita.
And as the adventurers focused on the thing's escape, the apparatus made a screeching noise when the thing crossed the reinforced door frame. The orbiting rings slowed bit by bit, each revolution getting slower and slower. Finally, out of momentum, they fell on the ground, crashing down with the heavy noise of broken glass. A wordless scream filled the entire room. Slowly, the crystal on the apparatus started to... vibrate. In the blink of an eye, a powerful white tide, like the fog that could be seen before, crossed the room and every living things in the vicinity.
The crystal, now free of all the mystic energy it contained, dropped to the ground, and rolled to Adonis' feets. Its luster seemed to be sent directly to his eyes, and there was no telling why it did that.
Outside, a terrible sound could be heard. The sound of bones rattling against bones. The house was finally coming... "alive".

As the creature sprinted forward, Tod threw himself forward. Heavy footsteps pulled him forever forward as he sprinted, naked body brought into the light, except for boots and currently the metal crucifix in his grip. With a look of pure rage, Tod advanced upon Adonis, "Stehe und kämpf!" he roared.
His attention returned to the hermaphrodite, of which he began to scream the same declaration before the white fog consumed his form. He turned and observed, bending his knees, assuming a combative stance, "KOMM SIE! BEKAMPFE MICH!"

She was frankly taken aback by the command - she wasn't going to listen to it to begin with, however the man did not show any inclination of pursuing the hermaphrodite. A precious second was lost as Jowita grunted with annoyance at Adonis.
And then it happened, and Jowita couldn't help but stop the chase. She struggled to keep her cool, focusing on the rattling bones, recalling the way they came through. Her hands were reloading the flintlock in the meantime.
She stayed silent, focused - the abomination could go to hell if it so desired, and she could not care less.
"With or without flesh, they are still men..." Jowita whispered to herself, a much needed reinforcement of her own courage.

“Fool. You lead your self to death as a lamb is sent for slaughter. Let God’s lost sight not seal your doom to bones.” Adonis said to himself as he watched Jowita run into the misty hallway outside.
Calm, collected, the sounds of bones did not chill him. The luster from the used crystal did not frighten him. No, he knew he would survive this, it was destiny. He would not let himself fall today.
Tod was a problem, not only would the creature be hell bent for him, he seemed to have gone completely insane. Only he, Adonis, the bringer of light, could hold his mind when all that is evil brings itself down upon a mortal frame.
“Towards the exit. Quickly now, more bones awaken!” He commanded Tod harshly, dagger drawn and fist clenched. The doctor headed for the doors, and the exit, hoping Jowita’s foolishness bought some distraction time.
