"Hmm. Do you like it here in the Abbey? Does everyone treat you well?" Grace asked, suddenly concerned.

Mercy seemed surprised by the sudden questioning, but she attempted to answer. "Uhhh, Yeah!"
She seemed happy to say it, she seemed sincere.

Good, Good." Grace says as she pinches the girl's cheeks lightly.

Mercy happily accepts the pinches, her hands reaching up to grasp Grace's, giggling. Her warm, beautiful smile happily beaming at Grace. "Yay!"

"Hmm. I wonder if there are other children I could let you play with. Perhaps in that orphanage. Would you like that?" Grace asks as she takes the girl's hands in her own.

Mercy was excited at the prospect of playing instead of learning, "Yeah! Please!"
She bounced playfully, hair bobbing as she seemed to already want to trek towards this "Orphanage Playtime"

"I will have to look into it. For now...Would you like to do some drawing?" Grace asked, thinking that was something children liked.

Mercy thought on it, despite being a little bit saddened at the thought of not going to the orphanage now, she kept the thoughts inside and spoke a different piece. "Sure!"

Grace carried Mercy over to her small desk and sat her down in the overly large chair. She looked around and produced a few pieces of paper, some ink, and a quill. She would then step back and observe the girl as she went about her play.

The girl sat down, and began to draw the first thing that came to mind, although this also started to turn into other things as the scatterbrained child doodled on the side before returning to her drawing of the holy cross. She giggled, and pointed to occasional funny-looking shapes, but remained drawing on a efficient pace.

Grace was only watching to ensure that Mercy didn't make too much of a mess, and would otherwise let her so as she pleased.

"I see. And it has healed well? You don't need any treatment?" Ignis asked. She was more of a chemist than a surgeon, but Tod didn't need to know that.

Tod took some time to answer this, being an exorcist, normally relationships he built wouldn't last as long as perhaps him and Ignis's, normally Tod was out of everyone's hair before he could really get to know them. Thankfully, Ignis had been asking surface level questions, so Tod was happy to share.
"Pretty good actually! Magic helps smooth the process out, so mostly i'm a-ok!"
He smiled, although awkwardness bled into it early, and he abandoned it for a smirk. He gestured towards his door, "Care to come in? Or are you just here to uh, tell me about the delivery?"

"I will come in, thank you." Ignis says as she enters the room again. "I suppose you have a pattern of befriending doctors." she commented idly.

Tod's eyes brightened at her quick acceptance, and although he may not have been thinking it, he may have been more than forthcoming to let her in for alternate reasons he didn't want to think about. He shook his head, a brief cringe hitting him before he entered his room again.
His own discarding of his coat was natural, the instruments inside weighing it down in the air as it made its way to smack onto his bed. He turned back towards his desk, back facing Ignis, hands moving fast, picking things up and corking a bottle of ink as well as putting things away and tidying up the spot.
He turned back towards her, "Y'know, now that I think of it, tis' a good a habit to make friends with doctors."
