He nodded, boasting a rather cheeky grin that only implied some sassy remark boiling just behind his tongue. There was some beauty in it all, he supposed, the harsh, nigh periless black of those shadows made from tall grasses and trees with limbs seemingly caught in stasis while they'd writhed in agony. Bereft of any intense leafly clumps so far from the Weald.
"Yeah, funny... Manic, even. But I suppose we call the man who made fire a genius, or god even." Lekalis huffed, chuckling, as he looked down to her caressing hand; bringing over his own to place on top of hers, patting it gently to tell her he was alright.
"... I love you." He murmured quietly, as he brought his hand about to his hip and brushed his shoulder against hers this time. "Love that you're not laughing at me, that you're... listening." Lekalis shrugged with a little laugh, closing an eye at her in scrutiny. "Love that you're delighting this silly part of me.", He did his best to lean over and peck her cheek, though it only barely graced her skin before he pulled back for want of losing his footing.
"Tell me about this river of yours; when'd you first stumble upon it..?" He decided to inquire more productively, as he set to pick up the idle sway of the hand-clasped arms, letting her fingers have a modicum of freedom, if but to let their fingers wriggle and writhe against eachother. "... The location of rivers and bodies of water in general are vital when running a campaign of any sort." He advised, reciting from some book or repeating an old would-be-wise veteran.

Tilly stopped beside the river, only a yard or so away from its bank. She scanned the premises for any large stones or low-hanging boughs: anything to hide their belongings while they washed.
She shared a look with him, and a small smile.
"I love you." She told him, with a nod, meandering towards some overhanging stones. She gave it a brief look-over, before detaching her hand from his for the sole purpose of working her boots off. "I love this side of you; I don't think I've ever seen it before..." She hummed, happily leaning into the peck on the cheek from Lekalis.
"You've always seemed so sodding... invincible, you know that?" She ran a hand down his shoulder before bending some, standing on one foot to unboot herself.
"It's always been a bit hard to believe when anything's wounded you." She sighed, letting one bare, long-toed foot down now that it was freed, the boot, the trophy of her labors, in her hand. "Unluckily for you."
Tilly made the same motions with the other boot, unclasping the buckle so that her other foot might wriggle free.
"But, hmm... this river..." She paused in recollection, busying her hands with her buckle.
"You remember that very first expedition I told you about? With the... weaponized vomit?" Tilly chuckled a bit, at her own expense, "After we lead Vittore to the sanitarium, I asked a nurse where the rest of my party might be able to wash without taining the wells. She gave me directions here"

With a glib hum, he swayed and meandered over to its bankage; haphazardly giving it a tactile look over, for any potential ambushers or approach vectors. Having found some security with that knowledge, he turned to face Tilly again shot her an all too familiar lusty look. "Believe you me; there are more sides to me than just a sprouting philosopher." He grinned and winked, as he undid the buttons of his outer trousers, before turning about and undoing the buttons of his boots. Both came off with practiced ease, which he set beside the nearby trunk of a tree.
"I'm in varying degrees of invincibility, mind you; there's 'aught that would kill me now." He sighed, as he began to undo the buttons on his inner trousers. Not yet having removed either layer, he shot a look over his shoulder.
"Ah, I remember..." He admitted with some sadness, feeling himself wilt a little though he took a breath to abate any nausea from the matter as he cocked his head to one side. "... I see... Well, if I hope that someday they'll say to trot on over to Blood's Bath-and-Board House for a wash and rest." He remarked confidently, setting his hands on his hips before hiking his shirt up and over his head in a single easy motion, depositing it on top of his boots.
"Did you... All..? Without any... You know..." He asked, smiling boyishly as he turned to face Tilly with his undone trousers, making his way over carefully, subtly.

Adonis exited the Abbey, feeling much more comfortable now that he was in his doctors outfit, his brown satchel with an iron cross on his side. His mask was finally where it should be, covering the lower half of his face below the nose that went all the way to the back of his neck. His ocean blue eyes were staring straight ahead and his long black hair going to his shoulders and even a little past was trailing slightly behind him.

Tod raised his hands up, and a yawn escaped him. This was often how Tod saw the world, an outside look on inside matters, but Tod felt happy to simply sit and enjoy his view. Thus began a thoughtful look at the surrounding Hamlet, the place that would be home to him for most time to come. Or until he was called back to Stroh, but ties to the place were strenuous and Tod feared he would not be called back. These thoughts were thrown from his head when an individual made himself present behind Tod, and another Tod smile erupted on his face. "Hello stranger, nice weather this evening, yes?"

"I know better than that."
Tilly cast him a cheeky smile, poking verbal fun at his supposed invincibility, and wiggled her bare toes, watching him unboot his own self as she set her own boots down next to her with the cuffs open.
She teasingly poked his exposed underbelly, that soft point beneath the bellybutton, before moving to sort through her coat with practiced quickness: she was rather adept at determining which pockets held what on a coat composed nigh entirely of hand-stitched pockets.
The contents were unceremoniously dumped into one of her boots, a flurry of gold, paper, and a set of needles of both hooked and pointed variety: lockpicks, to an eye that knew them.
"I absolutely bathe entirely clothed. Oh, yes, that's the best way to scrub swine-mess off of you." She mocked lightly, waggling a finger at him.
"'Course I was-- I just left them on their own to find a bitty nook upstream."

Adonis turned his gaze to Tod, seeing another holy man would've made him smile but the good chase inside got rid of that for now. "Yes it is, nice and cloudy yet not too cold. What's your name stranger?" He asked.

Tod leaned forward, the answer was a good one, nicely worded and didn't hold annoyance. So Tod responded, "My name is Tod,yours?"

His lips slid open, revealing a crescent moon of catty teeth as he spread his hands out at his approach like some messiah; eyeing her simply cute toes with with an almost unwarranted amount of predation, though, considering the escalation of events last time he'd tickled the fidgety shadow woman; he felt entirely justified.
"Do you?", he shot back when she claimed to know better.
When she poked that tender point, just below the bellybutton, he did his best to snap his arms out and about her arm, though Tilly was just as simply, innately, faster than he was. So his hands simply slapped together with an embarassing amount of intensity, betraying the amount of effort he'd put into trying to grab her in the casual and literal jab.
He ellicited a quiet hiss as he closed an eye, mimicking pain, as he rubbed his hands together and tried his best to recover some dignity.
Next, as she poured out the gold, paper, and set of lockpicks; he rose a brow with some scrutiny, shifting his head to look pointedly at all the loot, before his eyes sent their gaze back to Tilly's disrobing self.
"If you bathe so wholly closed: why the need to disrobe..?" He inquired with his own lusty, red-blooded answer implied in the subtle waggle of his hips, making the heavy leather trousers of Lekalis' lower shell slip to his mid thigh, as though his implication needed anymore emphasis.
With his next movements, he let his too-slow-for-Tilly hands reach out and caress the sides of her arms; doing what they did best, as one glided over her shoulder to her collar bone, seeing to undoing her jerkin's binds, while his leftern hand cupped her cheek.
If it weren't for her wide-brimmed hat, he would have gone swiftly for a kiss; instead, he stooped low for a moment and swept up and under her hat. He held himself at an ever intimate distance, his nose rubbing against the tip of hers, with his eyes all but waiting while he slowly shook his head just enough to bump to and fro across her nasal tip.
"That's good... Seems you've rightly cursed me with a fascination for nooks and crannies--" He winked his eye, pursing his lips, "--Strictly geographical, of course."

"Adonis, Doctor of the light at your service." He said smiling and doing a light bow, Tod being much more friendly than others he's met here.

Tod brushed off the front of his shirt out of courtesy, "Ah, a follower of the Light. Nice to see others of my kind here, it's horrifying how dour and dark everything is."

"Oh? I'm new here so I haven't really experienced what people have been talking about. This place seems as dark as the slums in Paris if nothing else, and even those aren't that horrible as what this place supposedly is. How long have you been here?" He asked, very interested.

Tod looked up at the sky, scratching his left arm. "I've been here, about a week? So I'm pretty fresh out of caravan myself."

Adonis's interest was cut short, sighing he moved to rid himself of some hair that had decided to hang in front of his eyes. "Ah, so you have little actual knowledge of this place? Disappointing but to be fair I didn't expect I meet any veterans if the tales are true of this place." He said nonchalantly.

Tod shrugged, a smile of "sorry" variety was on his face, "Ah, I imagine some here have braved the supposed dangers and lived to tell the tale. It's mostly up to the specific person." Tod yawned again, remembering he had yawned had caused him to yawn again! This was very confusing. "So, where might you be going off to?"
