"Really? He seemed nice enough." Tilly caught his eye and found her expression warming up to a smile, her gaze flicking to her boots as she went about unbinding them to her spindly legs. She slid her feet out of them and waggled her toes freely in the wind. "Both of you had a mind for cleanliness and the like. I was thinking you'd make good friends with 'im."
She sighed, leaning back on her elbows as she thought on her escapades with her old comrades. "I thought I told you-- Jacques had this book, you remember, that was influencing him to do evil deeds. So I went out and burned it so he wouldn't hurt anyone like Cinneas; and then Grace got dropped by her lover, so I was trying to keep her well. Aand... after I found Roderick again, Cugey went mad and disappeared. I haven't... seen him sense."
Her demeanor had grown to be more dower, and she rested her head on one shoulder as her brows furrowed.
"Most of them are gone, now. I miss them if I stop to think on it.

He made a small "ahh" sound as she reminisced; the words bringing up the memory again, rather, of her telling him than any recollection of those events. With a somber nod, he shared a moment of silence for her before standing up and flapping his shirt off in the breeze, "We'll need to write Jacques about our wedding." He remarked casually as he hung up his laundry to dry.
"Might be best to get to it today, before we sleep, don't you think?" He mused with a cat's wit as he prowled closer to the reclined Tilly, his head lent to one shoulder as he wrapped his arms loosely around himself; drumming lightly on either side of his belly as he sidled up beside her.

"Ahh, right. We'll need to get onto telling folks..." Tilly smiled a little at the thought, though it was quickly replaced with a profound sense of dread as she suddenly tensed and sat upright.
"We'll need to get onto telling folks." She repeated, fingers clutching fearfully about her face for a moment as she looked to Lekalis. "When are we having that wedding? So they can prepare..." She smoothed back her sandy hair with restless hands.
"We ought to tell Jacques as soon as we can, so he can get the letter in time to get ready and be here." She frowned as she contemplated the logistics of such a thing. "What about Lavinia?'

"We'll stow an invitation for Lavinia with Jacques; I imagine Jacques will know where Lavinia is better than we will." He nodded coolly as he watched Tilly clutch her face with some amusement, he reached out and tapped her sternum as if to remind her of something.
"Sosays a fortnite from now? For the Wedding... it'll give us time to prepare and time for letters and the like to be sent." Lekalis gave a small, delighted smile to Tilly as he leant himself to one side again, "Come now, off with it all; we need to wash your clothes. I want to make sure those bug-scratches aren't festering too... They haven't itched much, have they?" With a hum, he glanced off to his satchel, thinking on that lavender oil...

Tilly was quiet a moment, as thought the fret on what's to come came to a peak, until she let the worry go with a sigh. "Right, right..." She let her hands slip down to her lap, but she still seemed uneasy. The simple matter of it all was that she risked losing friends that mattered to her in this: Grace and Celeste... she'd always intended to inform them, but she hadn't thought on the logistics of it.
Her mind was somewhere else for the moment, and then she piped up again, neglecting to report the state of the bites, "How are we going to pay for it all?"
Like spiders skittering away from a boot, her hands nearly scrambled down the front of her shirt as she unbuttoned it and slipped her arms out. She seemed softer, and the hills and valleys of her ribs were unapparent as she shed her shirt. The scars still wound around and around her torso, but there was a slight rise to the abdomen, unnoticeable to the unkeen eye.
She watched him, and seemed soothed by it as she pushed some golden strands of hair behind her ear and made a weary smile. "I can't believe we're getting married."

Again, Lekalis' held his tongue for a moment as he shamelessly traced the subtlties of Tilly's skin with a gentleness more becoming of an archeologist to unfound bones than a man and a woman. His eyes flicked from his idle fascination to her eyes in the rhythms of speech, "Pay for it..? The Wedding?" He needlessly recollected as his finger traced the meridian of her abdomen, the slightest lapse of hesitation as he felt the peculiar rise there.
"I should be able to pay for rings with what I've got on my person... Besides that; favors, perhaps. I intend to retrieve a plot of land from the Heir, just behind the tavern to build a home... Our home." He rectified the last with a boyish smile as he brought his palms to rest on the bones of her hips. Leaning on them only slightly as he eased his little finger into the top of her trousers.
"It all feels like a dream to me still... It doesn't help that you look right like the Queen of angels." He scoffed, in playful derision as he stole his gaze away and made to lean away from her. Though, his fingers snagged on her pant's belt-line.

"Our home..." Tilly echoed in disbelief, but there was a twinge of a smile at the corners as she stuck one hand along the hem of his pants, in turn. The hands that roamed about her person had her shiver, happily, and she made to shift out of the rest of her clothing.
"I never thought I'd get married, ever." She giggled a little and leaned her brow into his shoulder. "Tilly Fanuschrat's got so much more flair to it."

He took a deep breath and pulled her into a light embrace as he rested his chin on her matted hair; his mind was screaming at him to get in the river and bathe already, but he relished the moment of closeness before easing away and rather swiftly undoing his own trousers off and away. "A proper name for a proper lady." He agreed with a toothy smile as he gingerly tugged at Tilly to follow him into the river proper.
"Where did you think you'd be when you came here anyways..?" He asked lightly, though he paid a knowing and sympathetic look to her as he waited with a small shiver in the river's waters. "... You'd been here for two years before I'd met you, and I've no means to judge harshly, just curious; you'd little to your name besides friends and your golden jacket. Aimless, really."

A light blush fell over her face as she watched him fully disrobed, and then depart. Holding her arms close to her, she following him into the cool river, shivering in the wake of it.
"I thought I'd be in and out within a few weeks, but... I was lonelier than I thought, I suppose, and it was easier to find a place to stay and to find gold." Tilly waded in the water after Lekalis, preferring to stay close. Her arms slackened, and hugged about her waist instead. Her eyes trailed the lines they made in the water.
"I never thought I'd get married and... have a baby and all that.-- I didn't even think I could." She shrugged her shoulders and looked up to the canopy above. "And I'm retiring now. It still doesn't even seem real, you know?"

With the clarity of the water rushing at their legs, he took the time to examine her ribs where the foul spawn had dug its legs into; he gingerly reached out to brush along where the marks looked a touch red... Though, that could have just been him being paranoid as ever.
"Oh, well... The Hurt tends to make it real, I've found." He morbidly mused with a little smile as he used the idle examination to start wiping away the built up dirt and oils and blood that'd built up over the past odd week. "Once we get the rings, get land under our names... It'll feel more real then too." He assured her with a lordly nod.

Tilly's shoulders tensed as he touched the scratches on the back. She hadn't tended to them much; a poor habit, though she found it better not to touch a wound at all when lacking proper supplies. Maybe it was a bad idea. It didn't do her any good to fret on it, and it was being tended to now, so she relaxed.
"Doesn't it make you nervous, though, when you think about it?" She glanced over her shoulder at him, "To just drop everything all of the sudden."

He paused his washing hands, letting them rest on Tilly's hips as he quirked his head at her, "Drop..? I see it as finally picking up the pieces." Lekalis shrugged and resumed rinsing her corpus with due diligence, picking up a small hum inbetween his words as he worked away the marks on her skin, "I find it more refreshing than frightening; but I am nervous about a lot of things... I suppose I just got used to it." He admitted with a small frown, his brow furrowed.
"As a Lord, being nervous helps when you're diligent on the matters. Helps you cover your castles." Lekalis smirked and shrugged as he moved to be behind Tilly, tending to the grime and dirt there. "Though I learned the diligence as a Lord, I find that it's helped me infallibly here. But... not-acting isn't exactly an issue for you, is it? Lady-of-a-Hundred-Friends?" He chuckled and shook his head as he coaxed some tenseness out of her shoulders, letting his palm press in and out of her muscles like water on a cliffside.

"Yes, being nervous helps me when I need to go fighting after some monster or the other when I'm out and about. But that's all I've been doing..." Admittedly, it was difficult to be so nervous with Lekalis's hands soothing her at the shoulders. She drew a hand up to pull her hair to one shoulder, though the move was ineffective on account of its inadequate length. She'd need to trim it, more, too, to even it out.
"My Margerie mothered my brothers and my sister and myself better than my own mother, and she could mend clothes and cook dinner and all in between without breaking a sweat." She wrung her hands under the guise of scrubbing out the grime between her fingers. "She tried to teach me, but I wouldn't listen 'cause I never thought I'd marry." She sighed and loosened her hands to twirl a finger in the water.
"Dunno how being nervous is meant to help you cook a stew."

His eyes caught the slight unevenness of her hair in that brief moment, and he gave a worried 'humm' as he moved his hands lower down her spine; his worry utterly replaced as he ran his fingers down either side of her spine in jubilant contemplation. "I'll show you how to cook a stew... I know over two hundred and fifty nine field-recipes from my troops, and only a quarter of them don't use alcohol... I think." He laughed at his own jest as he pulled her into a small hug.
"It's never too late to learn, so don't you fret none, eh?" He affirmed with a pat on her hip as he pulled away and affirmingly examined her backside, "I can't imagine you were too great at stabbing monsters when you started. Same'll go for cooking stew and mending... As for not breaking a sweat, well; I certainly don't mind it. Might make teaching you a touch interesting."

"I tried learning how and I couldn't do it." Tilly frowned and splashed at the water, working off some small frustration as she watched the water droplets catapult away.
"It's so sodding dull; you sit down in a room and watch a pot cook, and the moment you look away, the whole thing burns up." She wrinkled her nose in distaste at the memory, though it waned as she was pulled into the hug, as though it grounded her again. She rubbed her brow.
"And a baby." She cupped some water in her hands and then let it go, "There are so many wrongs to raise a little one up poorly. You ever notice how everyone who's wound up here either had no mother, or a bad one?"
