Quirks:
Beast Slayer: Besides receiving (unofficial) military training, from her father, for the lack of human to shoot, Sascha ended becoming an outstanding hunter, shooting down beasts and animals. Most of the time for sport and to remain sharp on the aim. Can do it for food, if she wants.
Insightful: Father was an interrogator (actually a torturer) on his days, for the military. Mother is a mute. Both parents had their share of contribution for Sascha to be this really aware person, on everything in general, but especially on reading people, their real intention, and veracity on their speech.
Aquaphobia: Sascha almost drowned, two times in her childhood. First time, with 7 years old, a pretty straight misfortune, slipped on the river bank. Father saved, few minutes after. Second time, at the age of 11, a group of 4 teenager girls, that were
temporarily living in the village, pushed her into the same river, after they discovered Sascha almost drowned once. That not being enough, just for fun, the girls would difficult her way out of the water, every time she was nearly succeeding. The cruel play extended to more than 40 minutes until Sascha passed out from exhaustion, The girls freaked out when it happened, and fled. Except one, that was older enough to realize what they did, taking Sascha out of the water, but only that, vanishing right after. Even after 15 years, Sascha have a huge problem with emerging her full body on water. Even drinking water she does in a really slow and focused manner, because she abominates the possibility of choking with water. She prefer to bath herself with a small bucket over a bathtub. Have reactions if
thrown at her any form of liquid, even if is just drops of water. In a life or death scenario, she will prefer (85% of the time) fight death over jumping on a huge portion of water.
Cove Phobe: Being at the Cove or any other watery ambient, is super uncomfortable and stressful for her. The idea the dripping ceiling of the cove, droping water all the time over her, give her goosebumps.
Backstory Synopsis:
Sascha is an introspective and quiet sport huntress, that accidentally became a somewhat famous investigator on Germany, over the last 5 years of her life. She traveled to the Darkest Estate, to continue an secret investigation that lead to that foul place. At the same time, she also have a letter of recommendation of a german medic, to look foward to a plague doctor that is supposed to be at the Hamlet, to find a cure to Leona, the doberman breeder, disease. With her, Sascha, have her self-confidence, wit, musket and a pack of dogs, to thrive in a land that rumors says it's cursed by unspeakable horrors!
Full Backstory:
Sascha had an fairly standard childhood, besides the drowning incidents at years of 7 and 11, that ended up being responsible for the development of aquaphobia. Good and standard relationship with her mother, and her being mute, didn't impacted Sascha negatively. A lot of things changed when she completed 12, because her father was retired from the army, due to injuries, having a much closer relationship with his only daughter. He pretty much raised her as a boy, teaching her the art of war, shooting and hunting. With the retirement, he started too a business with another old man, of breeding dogs. Sascha participated on everything she could, because the girl showed big interest in the canines too. The business partner of Sascha's father died a couple years later, and the breeding became a Holzmann business.
Sascha didn't showed any clear sign of brilhance or proficiency with anything she was taught, apparently being average in shooting, hunting and dog training. But actually she was a fast learner, pretty good on all that for her age, but was quiet enough to not step into the spotlight. But when she was 19, she was hunting with her dad and his friends, and on the way back, they encounter a trio of known and wanted bandits hiding with the woods. A fight started between the two groups, as soon they saw each other. Was a real mess and ugly fight, but surprisingly, the 19 years old young woman brought a quick end to the situation, shooting down two bandits with promptness and at the same time commanding Verner cleverly to pin down and give some teeth to the third and escaping one. With that display of skill, was obvious to everyone and more even for Sascha, that she was something special.
Confident, Sascha put more work on her skills and voluntary started (together with her father) to adress security issues of her hometown, becaming a parallel option for some problems people could have. They mostly did good deeds, sometimes, charging money for it. With her father getting more old, with 21 she started doing it by herself. Working alone and with the dogs, her name started to be known. And she started to work all over Germany as an sourceful investigator, an unofficial law enforcer, that would bring justice and solution to problems that the traditional institutions would not give enough atention. For the right coin, of course.
Misc. Notes:
Verner is the alpha Doberman, father of Elsa and Milo. It is extremely loyal and the more aggressive one. Resembles much the personality of Sascha's father, because he helped to train Verner. It is almost fearless and can go into the thick of battle, without questioning. Don't like neither beast or strange people.
Leona is the breeder, mother of Elsa and Milo. It used to be as active as Verner, going in hunts too, but is currently with a disease that Sascha don't understand totally about. At least for now, it can't take on adventuring and will mostly remain resting on the cannels of the Hamlet or doing breeder duties.
Milo is not that big and strong as it father. This male was trained only by Sascha and ended up being a more disciplined and versatily dog than Verner. Less agressive, only attacking if commanded to do it. Milo and Sascha have a really deep emotional connection, being best-friends. It is the partner of Sascha, in all her investigations.
Elsa is an all around good female Doberman, the younger of the pack, with a lot of room to grow. She's trained and healthy. Sascha like all of her dogs, but is already used to the situation of selling her dogs, because of her background. Because of financial issues, she is considering selling Elsa in the Hamlet for gold and/or favors.
In general, she is more open socially with the dogs than with humans, and interacting with the dogs is a big portion of her lifestyle and she can, at the same time, see them as friends, companions, tools, weapons and valuable property, all together in a harmonic way.
-Skills & Equipment
Weapons: The reliable musket and the pistol of her father, a gift after his retirement. A rapier, bought just before traveling to the Darkest Estate, she have training with the weapon, but never used this one in a real battle. Will prefer always the gun!
Armor: A good quality and fancy designed leather vest, with a long cloak and a cavalier hat. Is good material, but can see is not brand new. Sascha is using this for a long time now.
Other gear: Lots of supplies and treats for dogs (including a little bit of medicine for Leona), a personal journal, a valuabe pocket watch, 2 pairs of gloves, a bedroll, a flint.
Strengths:
Sascha is really insightful, clever person. She usually knows what's going on, without the need of someone telling her. She's not that talkative, and because of that, pass the idea of being humble, what she is, actualy. Confident, but not arrogant. She's definetely a good shot, and have this more wide view of the battlefield, being able to shoot, command the dog and give advice/lead at the same time. She just goes in flow state in the moment of danger or hunting and usually remains with the head cool and fresh in the process. She is the highly focused on results, kind of person.
Weaknesses:
Not because she is aware socially, means that she is good on expressing herself and deal with the social interactions. She's getting better, but still a downside of her. She tend to be really straight foward, with no ability to lie and deceive properly. She prefer dogs a bit more than humans, but is not totally against having human friends, she is just not good in making that much friends. The majority of friendships that Sascha will have, are built by the silent mutual respect (and sometimes admiration) that grows by sharing battle or hunts with persons with great skill or knowledge, because of her introversion. She have emotional issues about not having experienced anything special in the field of love and others emotional strong bonds with humans, besides her parents. There are times she is a little depressed. And last, but not least, her biggest (and almost mortal) weakness... water. :0
