Listening to Tilly’s ventures and gains, Courcy’s intrigued gaze persisted. She pulled her bag open to place the jar of light inside carefully enough.
“We had no such excitement.” The redhead remarked, crossing her legs and picking at the straps of her boots. “You better have left something for us to do out there.” She chittered, glancing between the semi-conscious robber and the ex-lord.

"No doubt-- whole beach was covered in treasures. Absolutely covered." Tilly murmured dreamily of this promised land with a satisfied smile. Even on the cusp of sleep, she still made idle, slow movements; she twirled the foot of her toe, or waggled her fingers against her lace armor. But she was perfectly content in this moment.
"I couldn't even carry everything back. I don't even think I looked through everything. I saved room for the return trip." She yawned again, and it started to pain her to remain awake.
"Expeditioning on it's own's exciting enough..." Were her last words before she felt herself fully succumbing to sleep.

/Lekalis/ The Ex-Lord watched the Graverobber slowly drift unto slumber, his lips spread to a wide and eager smile; eager to talk more though... respect kept his tongue stilled, for now, as he sighed and shut his eyes. He ran his hands over his thighs with a soft chuckle before cocking his head to face Courcy; "Think she fell asleep..." He whispered conspiratorially, as he scooted a bit away from Tilly so it'd be easier to whisper to Courcy.
Still holding the bottle, he held it up and examined it, a secondary glow lit up his features as he inspected the parchment bound to it, and the cork stoppering the throat. His eyes, glimmering in the orange light, glanced to Courcy, "... Are you ready for tomorrow?" \\

The prospect of more treasure was actually enticing. Courcy was glad to hear she wouldn't come out empty handed after all. For a penalty expedition, still captive by the heir's law until she followed through, things could have been many times worse.
She smirked at Tilly, a silent wish for pleasant sleep, before shifting herself to face Blood. Being in such a strange place, even for the hamlet, at a small campfire with a couple of friends, Courcy felt almost like a kid again. Like when she first fled her home.
"I suppose." The ginger matched Lekalis' quiet voice, and stooped a bit closer to him. She idly pulled the laces of her boots undone, then her hand drifted to Blood's own to untie. "Been a long time since I've really done any fighting. But you said maybe we won't have to."

He raised a hand quickly, but subtly as he pulled his boot closer to his chest, away from Courcy's hand; "If we do get in a fight..." Lekalis reminded, as he looked off to the fog; its misty greyness still apparent despite the bluish gloom of the evening upon them. "... I'd rather have my boots on." His gaze flicked to Courcy, and he nodded at her, "I'd be worried about a crab sneaking into my boots if I were you." He smirked and offered a quiet laugh as he stroked the growing hairs on his chin, his gaze swaying back to the campfire.
"Hmm... Tomorrow; I plan to have Tilly scout ahead a bit in the morning. If you want, we could practice sparring while she's out?" He offered as he rolled his shoulders and saw to laying down on his side. Lounging with one knee cocked and a hand propping his head up. \\

With a sigh, the hellion stretched out each of her legs to kick off her boots. The air chilled her toes and the pads of her feet, but she'd rather that than being trapped in her shoes overnight.
"I'll check them well enough in the morning. Before we spar." She replied with a nod towards him. Courcy rolled onto her front, leaning up on her elbows and kicking her feet up behind to warm nearer the fire. Consequently, her position towards him showed off her bust, though not as revealing as she had displayed before their trek.
"I suppose you'd rather have your belt on too..." If she were allowed, Courcy would angle closer and nuzzle her nose and lips below Blood's belt buckle. Her eyes, like sapphires, twinkling up to meet his own dark orbs.

The Hellion's advances were hardly subtle, though he watched her with thinly veiled intrigue. Lekalis' seemed to hold his breath as he watched her angle closer; he seemed like to let her proceed before he inhaled sharply and glanced away, clearing his throat. "Ah, yes I... Would. A good belt is important to keep one's pants... in check..." He coughed loudly and shifted from his position to sit more properly, cross-legged, after smoothing out his pant leg and giving Courcy a stern look.
His attentions looked to Tilly, then Courcy before he clapped his hands together loudly; his tone raising as he stood up with his excitement, the very least, seeming subdued. "... I'd forgotten! We'll need a meal and a proper set of watch! Tilly?" He declared and, making sure to give Tilly a quick and light kick in the shoulder, marched over to the rucksack holding a tin of meal and saw to pulling out the rations for the expedition with a whistle. \\

"Wha--" Tilly jerked upright with a start, muscles tensed. Her hands were raised, as though to grasp at her daggers in readiness. However, the wide brim of her hat still sagged in front of her eyes, where she had left it when she slept, betraying such aspects of readiness.
"What time s'it?" She tipped the hat away from her eyes and felt reassuringly for Beansprout in her pocket, glancing up to the sky with a small sigh. Not much time had passed at all.
"I-I can take first watch?" She offered, slumped forward as she rubbed her eyes. "I'm... not too terribly hungry."

Courcy slouched with a sigh and rolled onto her side. Suddenly, she was tired and vacant. Whether she was too abrupt, or whether it was her mistake to think he was interested at all, she felt stupid.
"You can hardly keep awake. I'll watch first." The redhead spoke up, though she didn't move as Blood pulled out the rations.

The Ex-Lord looked between the two, clearly gauging their capabilities... Perhaps for Tilly, it was more out of respect than any real consideration given her slurred speech. It was enough to rouse a more comfortable smile, given the awkward situation moments before. "Aye, Courcy will take first watch. I'll take second, Tilly, you can have last." He declared in a curt but jubilant fashion.
The tin's cap was swiftly screwed off, and he saw to collecting some sticks to prop it up over the fire. The sweet, sweet scent of ground vegetables and meat began to waft out from the tin swifter than one might imagine, and Lekalis was distributing bowls and forks to his two comrades soon enough before the meal was fully ready. "And, I want you to get some food in your belly Tilly... I intend to have you scout ahead of us come morning, it'll be better if you don't have a breakfast to weigh you down... Y'told me as much before, I think." He hummed as he finished setting out the utensils and bowls, and now began pouring out a mush of greens and browns that smelled like glorified dirt. \\

"Ah, that's... fair." Tilly was having a great time until she caught wind of the dinner being served. It made her stomach knot, especially seeing it poured out before her. The world was frustratingly more pungent than she'd known it.
She made an anxious smile and stuck the spoon hesitantly into the mush.
"Where'll I be scouting? Just down the boardwalk?"

"Aye, check if there are any spots we 'ought to be careful around... Slick planks around cold water are as much a death sentence as any." He advised, tapping his brow before setting aside the tin, rations distributed; he held a bowl himself with due rations now, and looked to both Courcy, then Tilly.
He shared Tilly's distaste and offered a sympathetic smile, "... Wish I could grab meat and cheese and bread but... well, stocks were low, and I've a mind for saving my personal funds for my homely venture." He nodded with vim as he used the moment's cheer to stuff a spoonful of greens and ground beef into his gob and swallowed before the flavor could settle on his tongue.
"You know what to look out for on a slick dock?" He asked genuinely, raising his brows for emphasis as he bobbed slightly in his seat and took another swallow of the rations. He seemed to be trying to eat the food as fast as he could, before the taste could catch up. \\

Tilly refused on sheer principle to retch in front of her compatriots again.
"...It's not like we need anything fancy, anyways." She sized up the mixture in front of her like one would easily approach any obstacle: with much frowning, and an urge to turn back or avoid it entirely... She also considered how quickly she could scurry off away from camp if need be.
Tilly shrugged, "I've no idea what to look for on a slick dock, 'sides slick planks and cold water," and consciously thought of more pleasant things, like sweet, sunny fruits and the smell of rain and how lovely sleeping felt while she determindedly stuck the spoon in her mouth.

"Huh... well--" The Ex-Lord cocked his head to one side and held a fist out, palm facing the sky as fingers jabbed out, counting off his list; "First, probably the most obvious is wet wood. It'll be darker, shinier than the rest of the planks. Two, moss or seaweed; this is also shiny... and dark. Look for it poking out inbetween the planks or wrapped around the log struts. Three, corrosion or soft wood... That'll probably be the hardest to keep an eye out for but soft or corroded wood usually looks drier, less shiny than the rest of the wood. Of course, if you poke soft wood, it'll break apart easily enough so... Eye out for that." He nodded astutely as he seemed satisfied with the numbered list and offered a smirk as he watched her doggedly chow down.
"That should be enough... Keep in mind where it's at; count the logs or other markers, the like." He shrugged and saw to finishing his gruel. "You up for it?"

The redhead wasn't so picky about the food. Not that she enjoyed it, but she was accustomed to eating less than palatable meals, or even going without. Even so, she only slowly picked at the beef and greens.
She had no input, though she exchanged a fatigued glance between Blood and Tilly as they talked. If either of them met her eyes, she avoided the look, suddenly content to take a hefty bite of the mushy food.
Courcy almost would have liked to ask how Lekalis could prefer this - chowing on admittedly cheap rations and talking about moss - to being sucked off. At the same time, she would've liked not to hear his voice.
