Aliyaah
Appearance
Age: 25
Sex: Female
Physical Description:
Aliyaah has short, dark auburn hair that have clearly seen better days. Although she is almost constantly frowning or scowling, there is a certain beauty to her, reminiscent of her origins as a princess. A soft visage and rather svelte body allude to the remnant of elegance that still inhabit her, although this is very much useless given her new job and what she does with this beauty: nothing.
Attire:
A protective coat covers her body, the layer of fur on the inside keeping her warm and protected against the environments when travelling (or fighting) in harsh conditions.Strap of all sorts secure her equipment as to make sure that none is lost during a hasty retreat: such as the various phials and bottles that are attached to the straps of her armor, which are of varying colors and uses. A human skull adorns her right shoulder, and a smaller one onto her richly decorated crossbow. What is most notable is her midnight blue scarf, still in pristine condition - and this, despite the fact that she is never seen without it. The royal look of her crossbow and pouches clashes with the practicality of her fur-and-leather outfit, but the golden color has dulled with time: so much so that it takes a careful examination to even notice it.
Biography

Weak Grip on Life "Fuck it. If I have to die now, then so be it. Valhalla!"
Nocturnal "You expect me to do well with that light in my face? Think again!"
Deviant Tastes "I know, I know, just take this coin and shut up about it, or I'll make you."

Steady "Pah! I've weathered fiercer storms than this!"
Backstory Synopsis:
Aliyaah was once an elegant princess, married by arrangement to a northern ruler. Ripped from her comfortable lifestyle by a coup that saw her husband killed, she fled into central lands and worked as a mercenary, determined to wash away the "delicate flower" and replace it with a hardened warrior, the harshness of the world revealed to her with a vicious insistence. Leaving the profession when she sensed that one of their employers felt off, she started to study dark arts in an attempt to ward herself from others, associating human interaction with the risk of being hurt physically and emotionally. Found, derided and banished, she is now another resident of the Darkest Estate, lured like so many other before her.
Full Backstory:
Aliyaah was a princess of Arabic lands far to the South who was married off to a powerful Jarl from the North in order to form an alliance between two nations. Living just as sheltered as she had before and enjoying the lavish lifestyle of royalty, everything when crashing down when an usurper killed her husband and took his place: forced to go into hiding, something grew in the precious princess as she was tracked down. A will to survive, no matter the odds. Managing to evade her pursuers long enough to flee into more central lands, she now knew that to live in this world meant to rid herself of that softness of hers and become something more tougher - something more lethal. Joining up with a small band of mercenaries, she left before an ill-fated mission that would see the company entirely destroyed.
Questioning her place in the world, Aliyaah discovered in herself a deep thirst for power, reasoning that nobody could possibly bother her again if she scared them off by her presence alone. She studied forbidden tomes in an attempt to discover the dark secrets of an ancient heretical art - but never managed to, as most of the tomes had been burned down by the church. Derided and banished from the small county she had found a temporary home in after a monk discovered her blasphemous research and pagan beliefs, she fled and decided to find a place where her actions may go unnoticed. Hearing growing rumors of the Darkest Estate and its peculiar condition, she took what little she had and went on her journey to the darkest corner of the world, knowing that this will be her greatest challenge yet.
Misc. Notes: (Special items, notable scars, scents, how they walk, or talk, etc.)
Skills & Equipment
Weapons:
A crossbow (shown in the picture), along with a dagger.
Armor:
A rigid leather breastplate, with rigid leather boots, gloves and knee pads.
Other gear:
Aliyaah aims to become a capable alchemist, which requires a lot of trial and error on her part. She is versatile, and all kinds of concoctions are stored in the phials and bottles she carries: they contain poison, elixirs of blight, antivenom, cures, fortifying droughts... Aliyaah hopes to extend the range of the potions at her disposal, but this is the least of her concerns for now: she must find out how to make strong and reliable concoctions, those she makes being either too weak to be useful in combat or too volatile for anyone to accept drinking one - except herself, of course. This is something she wishes to rectify in her prolonged stay in the Hamlet: as of now, the potions she make are more of a hazard than anything else.
Strengths:
Years spent in the harsh northern wilderness have shaped Aliyaah into a survivor. Make no mistake: she may be disillusioned and tired of the incessant trials life sends her way, yet she stills is a force to be reckoned with, especially in forests, swamps and such hostile environments. Laying down traps, setting up ambushes and crushing the morale of her enemy are her specialties. Although she remains feminine enough and still weaker than other adventurers, her mental fortitude is formidable, weathering the storms going through her psyche - until she reaches her breaking point, that is. She is an experienced hunter, although her expertise in hunting down animals and disorganized men makes her far from versatile.
Weaknesses:
When taken into enclosed areas like corridors or small rooms where camouflage and harassing tactics are ineffective, she tends to be very much handicapped. Not only does the expedition group's torch makes aiming worse more than anything, it ruins her chances at making herself scarce: and so where some see solace in radiance, she sees only doom. Furthermore, her resilient mind is like that of a tree: it can weather fierce storms, but once her breaking point is reached, it will take long for her to find the strength in herself to keep going - and in the meantime, a depressive state takes over, pushing her to accepting death, seeing it as liberation.
Aliyaah isn't very muscular either: this explains the fact that her crossbow isn't as heavy (and powerful) as it should be, or that she wears little in the way of armor.
A well-trained enemy formation could always root her out, and the bizarre creatures of the Darkest Estate are sure to take her by the surprise. This is something she intends to fix, although she has to experience the local horrors to better herself.
Lastly, she is much more adept with a bow than a crossbow, but has to make up for her lack of sufficient muscles to make a bow truly effective. This means that she is uncomfortable with her current weapon, but unable to part from it because of its emotional importance to her.
Notes: Following recent (valid) criticism, I have decided to take an approach that is as fitting into this roleplay as possible. Should any of you have criticism, I will be willing to receive it. Aliyaah is imported from a homebrewed roleplaying campaign and adapted for the Darkest Roleplay, but I recognize my ability to make mistakes and encourage you to speak up if you feel that something feels out of place.
