Griswold Teufel
Resolve level: Seeker Leper (0)
-Appearance
Age: 27
Height: 5'11" [1.8 m]
Physical Description:
He is tall and broad, but skeletal, much of his structure is angular due to his malady. Skin is tan and spotted with blisters from his leprosy.
Jaw and cheeks are pointy and bony while most of his facial features are concave. Eye sockets are deep and the lids forced to squint, allowing him hardly any perception. He also has a partial cleft lip. His digits are malformed or non-existent.
Attire:
His limbs and torso are wrapped with bandages to treat the blisters. He wears a dark grey gambeson beneath a leather brigandine coat. He has tight fitting pants, a red hood to pull over his head, and a frill at his collar. Griswold bears plate on his shoulders and a guantlet on his right wrist which he uses to fasten his sword to his hand.
The most distinctive of his attire is a simple metal mask that hides his disfigured face.
-Biography
Quirks:
+Robust: He survives leprosy daily, little else is a greater bother.
+Slugger: What he lacks in finesse, Griswold makes up for in power.
-Mercurial: Prone to erratic changes of mood, he is difficult to read or sometimes cooperate with.
-Unquiet Mind: He despises solitude and requires his close friend Jeanne to remain stable.
Synopsis:
Griswold lived simply until, as a young adult he was afflicted with leprosy. He was outcast as unsightly and dangerous. The only place he could find shelter and a meager living was with a traveling circus. His strength, but mostly his horrid appearance was an asset to 'entertain' an audience. As the carnival eventually failed, he sought out the Hamlet in hopes to make something of a life. He convinced another, a girl named Jeanne to accompany him.
Full:
Infected with leprosy, the man was chased from his home. Even his family were disgusted and afraid of him. Before he starved as a beggar, Griswold was lucky enough to find a place he would be accepted, or at least have a stable income. He became a 'freak' and 'strongman' attraction for a small band of travelling entertainers.
Hardly satisfied with his accomodations, he consoled himself in that he was at least alive. The leper was almost relieved when a couple of the performers killed themselves for a stunt, and the circus disbanded.
Though he was free once more, Griswold was frantic to find some place that could stand him. He brought the daughter of the deceased perfomers with him to seek out the Darkest Estate.
